Requirements:
5 x 50g balls of Ornaghi Filati Sugar; one pair No. 8 needles; one 22
cm long zip.
Stitches:
Stocking stitch (St st):
*knit 1 row, purl 1 row*
Garter stitch (Gr st)
Knit all rows.
Open-work stitch:
Row 1: purl
Row 2: *2yo, k1, rep from * across.
Row 3: *drop yo, sl 3 sts on right needle; slip the 3 sts again on left
needle and k3tog, yo, k3 tog; drop sts from left needle, rep from * across.
Rows 4: purl.
Rows 1-4 form pattern.
Gauge:
8 sts and 10 rows to 10 cm in St st using size 8 needles.
Back:
With size 8 needles cast on 36 sts. Work: 3 rows in Gr st, 4
rows in open-work st, 2 rows in Gr st, 4 rows in open-work st. Cont in
St st. Work straight until work measures 34 cm from beg (=30 r.). Shape
armholes. Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 1 st at each end of next
8 alternate rows (=16 sts). When work measures 54 cm from beg (=50 r.)
bind off.
Front:
With size 8 needles cast on 36 sts. Work: 3 rows in Gr st, 4
rows in open-work st, 2 rows in Gr st, 4 rows in open-work st. Cont in
St st. Work straight until work measures 34 cm from beg (=30 r.). Shape
armholes. Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 1 st at each end of next
8 alternate rows (=16 sts). When work measures 54 cm from beg (=50 r.)
bind off.
Sleeves:
With size 8 needles cast on 16 sts. Work 2 rows in Gr st. Cont. in St
st. Shape sides by increasing 1 st at each end of every following 8th
row 4 times, 1 st at each end of next 6th row once (=26 sts). Work straight
untile sleeve measures 42 cm from beg (=42 r.). Shape the top of the
sleeve. Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 1 st at each end of next
7 alternate rows (=8 sts). When work measures 62 cm from beg (=62 r.)
bind off.
Collar:
With size 8 needles cast on 42 sts. Work: 3 rows in Gr st, 4 rows in open-work
st, 2 rows in Gr st, 4 rows in open-work st, 2 rows in Gr st, 4 rows in open-work
st. Bind off.
Manufacturing:
Join sleeve seams. Sew zip along left front seam. Sew collar around neck
edge, leaving it open in correspondance with the zip. Join side seams.
