Materials
14 x 50g balls of Ornaghi Filati Steffy; one pair 6 1/2 mm needles; a 6 mm crochet hook.

Stitches
K2, p2 rib:
Row 1: *k2, p2*
Row 2 and foll rows: k the k sts and p the p sts as they face you
Stocking stitch (St st):
*knit 1 row, purl 1 row*
Fur stitch:
Row 1: *K1 but do not drop from left needle, Yf, wind yarn around left thumb, Yb, K original st again and let it drop, Yo from front to back, pass last 2 sts on right needle over the over, as if casting off, withdraw thumb from loop.
Row 2: purl
These 2 rows form pattern.
Pattern stitch (Patt st):
Row 1: work as fur stitch
Row 2, 3, 4: knit
These 4 rows form pattern.
Chain stitch (ch)

Gauge
8 sts and 12 rows to 10 cm in St st using size 6 1/2 mm needles.

Back
With size 6 1/2 mm needles cast on 44 sts. Work 8 rows in K2, p2 rib (=7 cm). Cont in St st, decr. 4 sts evenly spaced across 1st row (=40 sts). Work straight until piece measures 22 cm from rib (=26 r.). Next row: K17, work 6 sts in Fur st, K17. Next row: purl. Next row: K15, work 4 in Fur sts, K2, work 4 in Fur st, K15. Cont. in this way inc 2 sts worked in Fur st at each side 7 times. Cont. in St st. A the same time when work measures 30 cm from rib (=36 r.) shape armholes. Cast off at beg of every row 3 sts twice, 1 st 4 times (=30 sts). Work straight until piece measures 51 cm from rib (=62 r.). Cast off rem. sts.

Right front
With size 6 1/2 mm needles cast on 23 sts. Work 8 rows 7 p. in Fur st, 16 sts in K2, p2 rib (=7 cm). Cont working 7 sts in Fur st, 16 sts in St st. in Patt st. When piece measures 22 cm from rib (=26 r.) shape armhole. Cast off at beg of next alt. row 3 sts once, 1 st twice (=18 sts). Work straight until piece measures 47 cm from rib (=56 r.). Shape neck. Cast off 7 sts at beg of next alt row once, 1 st twice. Work straight until piece measures 51 cm from rib (=62 r.). Cast off rem. 9 sts. Work left front reversing shapings.

Sleeves
With size 6 1/2 mm needles cast on 24 sts. Work 2 rows in St st, 2 rows in Fur st, 6 rows in K2, p2 rib (=8 cm). Cont in St st. Shape sides by increasing 1 st at each end of every following 12th row twice (=28 sts). Work straight until sleeve measures 42 cm from rib (=50 r.). Shape the top of the sleeve. Cast off at beg of foll rows 3 sts twice, 1 st 12 times. When sleeve measures 53 cm from rib (=64 r.) cast off rem. 10 sts.

To make up
Join shoulders seams. Using 6 1/2 mm needles, with RS facing, K up 46 sts across neck edge and work 26 rows in Patt st. Cast off. Join sides. Sew in sleeves. With crochet hook work 2 chains 32 cm long on front neck edge and on front edges, 38 cm from cast on sts.
