6 x 50g balls of Ornaghi Filati Soffio; one pair 5 1/2 mm needles; cable needle.

Stitches
Rev. Stocking stitch (St st):
*purl 1 row, knit 1 row*
Pattern stitch (Patt st):
Row 1, 3, 5, 7: k8
Row 2 and foll even rows: p8
Row 9: C8F (sl 4 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, k4, k sts form cable needle)
Row 11: k8
These 12 rows form pattern.

Gauge
10 sts and 13 rows to 10 cm in rev. St st using size 5 1/2 mm needles.

Back
With size 5 1/2 mm needles cast on 60 sts. Work 19 sts in rev. St st, 8 sts in Patt st, 6 sts in rev. St st, 8 sts in Patt st, 19 sts in rev. Patt st. Work straight until work measures 38 cm from beg (=50 r.). Shape armholes. Cast off 1 st at each end of next 6 alternate rows (=48 sts). Work even until piece measures 61 cm from beg (=80 r.). Shape shoulders. Cast off 11 sts at beg of next 2 rows (=26 sts). Work even until piece measures 69 cm from beg (=90 r.). Cast off.

Front
With size 5 1/2 mm needles cast on 60 sts. Work 19 sts in rev. St st, 8 sts in Patt st, 6 sts in rev. St st, 8 sts in Patt st, 19 sts in rev. Patt st. Work straight until work measures 38 cm from beg (=50 r.). Shape armholes. Cast off 1 st at each end of next 6 alternate rows (=48 sts). Work even until piece measures 61 cm from beg (=80 r.). Shape shoulders. Cast off 11 sts at beg of next 2 rows (=26 sts). Work even until piece measures 69 cm from beg (=90 r.). Cast off.

Sleeves
With size 5 1/2 mm needles cast on 26 sts. Work 9 sts in rev. St st, 8 sts in Patt st, 9 sts in rev. Patt st. Incr. 1 st at each end of every 16th row 3 times (=32 sts). Work straight until sleeve measures 50 cm from beg (=66 r.). Shape the top of the sleeve. Cast off 1 st at beg of next 20 rows (=12 sts). When work measures 66 cm (=86 r.) cast off all sts.

To make up
Join sides, shoulders and collar. Sew in sleeves.
