Materials
6 x 50g balls of Ornaghi Filati Reflex; one pair 5 mm and one pair 5 1/2 mm needles.

Stitches
K2, p2 rib:
Row 1: *k2, p2*
Row 2 and foll rows: k the k sts and p the p sts as they face you
Stocking stitch (St st):
*knit 1 row, purl 1 row*

Gauge
13 sts and 17 rows to 10 cm in St st using size 5 mm needles.

Back
With size 4 1/2 mm needles cast on 62 sts. Work 32 rows in K2, p2 rib (=14 cm). Change to 5 mm needles. Cont in St st. Work straight until piece measures 18 cm from rib (=32 r.). Shape armholes. Cast off at beg of every row 3 sts twice, 2 sts twice, 1 st 8 times (=44 sts). Work straight until piece measures 36 cm from rib (=62 r.). Cast off rem. sts.

Front
With size 4 1/2 mm needles cast on 62 sts. Work 32 rows in K2, p2 rib (=14 cm). Change to 5 mm needles. Cont in St st. Work straight until piece measures 18 cm from rib (=32 r.). Shape armholes. Cast off at beg of every row 3 sts twice, 2 sts twice, 1 st 8 times (=44 sts). Work straight until piece measures 28 cm from rib (=48 r.). Shape neck. K to centre 14 sts and bind off, join a 2nd ball of yarn and k to end. Working with 2 balls of yarn, dec at each side of neck edge on every foll alternate row 2 sts twice, 1 st once. Work straight until piece measures 36 cm from rib (=62 r.). Cast off rem. 10 sts.

Sleeves
With size 4 1/2 mm needles cast on 32 sts. Work 34 rows in K2, p2 rib (=15 cm). Change to 5 mm needles. Cont in St st. Shape sides by increasing 1 st at each end of every following 8th row 4 times (=40 sts). Work straight until sleeve measures 32 cm from rib (=54 r.). Shape the top of the sleeve. Cast off at beg of foll rows 3 sts twice, 1 st 22 times. When sleeve measures 46 cm from rib (=78 r.) cast off rem. 12 sts.

To make up
Join right shoulder seam. With right side facing, using size 4 1/2 mm needles knit up 80 sts evenly around neck edge and work 16 rows in k2, p2 rib. Cast off. Join left shoulder seam. Join sides. Sew in sleeves.
