450 grams of mélange gray Ornaghi Filati yarn; rows No. 3½ and 4½.

Stitches used:
Stitches 1/1:
1st row: * 1 plain stitches, 1purl stitches *.
2nd row and following rows: knit the stitches as presented.
English stitches:
First row: plain
Second row: * 1 plain stitch, 1 double stitch (knit 1 plain stitch introducing the right row into the stitch situated under the stitch on the left row) *
Third and subsequent rows:
Knit 1 plain stitch over the previous row's double stitch over the previous plain stitch row.

Sample:
10 X 10 cm in English stitch mode with No. 4½. rows = 19 stitches for 37 rows.

BACK: With No. 3½ rows start 86 stitches and knit them, for the border, stitches 1/1 X 8 cm (= 24 rows). Continue on English stitch mode with No. 4½ rows. At 21 cm from the border (=79 rows) for the arm-holes, inside the first and last 5 stitches, cast off 2 stitches every 4 rows for a total of 4 times (=70 stitches). At 42 cm from the border (= 150 rows) for the shoulders, interlace 16 stitches on the 38 central stitches , for the neck, for 9 cm (= 34 rows) and interlace these stitches as well.

FRONT: With No. 3½ rows start 86 stitches and knit them, for the border, stitches 1/1 X 8 cm (= 24 rows). Continue on English stitch mode with No. 4½ rows. At 21 cm from the border (=79 rows) for the arm-holes, inside the first and last 5 stitches, cast off 2 stitches every 4 rows for a total of 4 times (=70 stitches). Cast on 1 stitch to the sides every 20 rows for a total of 4 times (= 55 stitches). At 34 cm from the border (= 125 rows) for the arm-hole inside the first and last 5 stitches cast off 2 stitches every 6 rows for a total of 10 times (= 15 stitches). At 49 cm from the border ( = 181 rows) interlace the 15 remaining stitches in a single way.

MANUFACTURING: Sew the right shoulder andr the neck. Sew the sides. Close and attach the sleeves.
