Pisolo White and blue bootees

Materials
2 x 50g balls of Ornaghi Filati Pisolo: 1 ball white, 1 ball blue; one pair 1 1/2 mm needles.

Stitches
Stocking stitch (St st):
*knit 1 row, purl 1 row*
Garter stitch (Gr st)
Knit all rows.
Seed stitch:
Row 1: *k1, p 1*, k1
Row 2 and foll rows: k the p sts and p the k sts as they face you.

Instructions
Beg at centre of sole. With size 1 1/2 mm needles and white cast on 39 sts. Row 1: k1, inc 1, k18, inc 1, k1, inc 1, k18, inc 1, k1. Row 2: k. Rep rows 1-2, 4 more times, inc 1 st above previous inc on every second row (=59 sts). Work in St st 4 rows white, 2 rows blue, 2 rows white, 2 rows blue, then place 22 sts at right and left edge on holder, work 15 centre sts in seed st with blue in the foll way: *sl1, 13 sts in seed st, sl 1, k 1st st on holder, psso; turn; sl 1, 13 sts in seed st, p tog next st and the 1st st on holder; turn*, rep from * to * 9 more times (=39 sts). With white work 8 rows in St st. Next row: *k2, k2tog., yo*, k1; next row: purl. Work 14 rows in Garter st. Cast off.

To make up
Join foot, heel and back seams. Using 4 strand of white and 2 strands of blue yarn make a twisted cord 40 cm long and thread through eyelet holes.
