1 x 50g ball of Ornaghi Filati Pisolo blue; one pair 1 1/2 mm needles.

Stitches
Stocking stitch (St st):
*knit 1 row, purl 1 row*
Garter stitch (Gr st)
Knit all rows.
Pattern stitch:
Row 1: *k1; k3 tog, p3 tog and k3 tog 3 foll sts*, k1
Row 2 and all even rows: p.
Row 3: k
These 4 rows form pattern

Instructions
Beg at centre of sole. With size 1 1/2 mm needles cast on 38 sts. Row 1: k1, inc 1, k17, inc 1, k2, inc 1, k17, inc 1, k1. Row 2: k. Rep rows 1-2, 5 more times, inc 1 st above previous inc on every second row (=58 sts). Work in St st 10 rows. Next row: k26, sl1, k1, psso, k2, k2tog, k26. Next row: purl. Rep these 2 rows 4 more times, decr. 1 st above previous dec. on every second row (=48 sts). Next row: *k2, k2tog., yo*, k1; next row: purl. Work 12 rows in Pattern st, 6 rows in Garter st. Cast off.

To make up
Join foot, heel and back seams. Using 6 strands of blue yarn make a twisted cord 40 cm long and thread through eyelet holes.
