Materials
2 x 50g balls of Ornaghi Filati Pisolo blue; one pair 2 mm needles; cable needle; 8 buttons.

Stitches
Rev. Stocking stitch (rev. St st):
*purl 1 row, knit 1 row*
K1, p1 rib:
Row 1: *k1, p1*
Row 2 and foll rows: k the k sts and p the p sts as they face you
Garter stitch (Gr st)
Knit all rows.
Pattern st:
Row 1, 3, 5, 7: k3, p6, k3
Row 2 and foll even rows: k the k sts and p the p sts as they face you
Row 9: C4F (sl 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, k2, k sts form cable needle), p4, C4B (sl 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, k2, k sts form cable needle)
Row 11: p1, C4F, p2, C4B, p1
Row 13: p2, C4F, C4B, p2
Row 15: p3, C6B (sl 3 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, k3, k sts form cable needle), p3
Row 17, 19: p3, k6, p3
Row 21: rows 15-20 form pattern.

Gauge
30 sts and 46 rows to 10 cm in rev st st and patt st using size 2 mm needles.

Left back
With size 2 mm needles cast on 46 sts. Work 4 rows in Garter st (=0,5 cm). Proceed as foll: 17 sts in rev St st, 12 sts in patt st, 17 sts in rev. St st. Work straight until work measures 23,5 cm from beg (=110 r.). Shape neck. Cast off 16 st at beg of next row, 1 sts at beg of next 2 alt rows 2 times. Work even until piece measures 25,5 cm from beg (=118 r.), end with wrong side row. Shape shoulder. Cast off 10 sts at beg of next 4 rows. Cast off rem. 8 sts. Work right back reversing shapings.

Front
With size 2 mm needles cast on 96 sts. Work 4 rows in Garter st (=0,5 cm). Proceed as foll: 17 sts in rev St st, *12 sts in patt st, 13 sts in rev. St st.*, rep from * to * one more time, 12 sts in patt st, 17 sts in rev. St st. Work straight until work measures 22,5 cm from beg (=106 r.). Shape neck. Work in patt to centre 20 sts and cast off, join a 2nd ball of yarn and work in patt to end. Working with 2 balls of yarn, dec. at each side of neck edge on every foll alternate row 2 sts 2 times, 1 st 6 times. Work even until piece measures 25,5 cm from beg (=118 r.), end with wrong side row. Shape shoulders. Cast off 10 sts at beg of next 4 rows, 8 sts at beg of next 2 rows.

Sleeves
With size 2 mm needles cast on 52 sts. Work 4 rows in Gr st (=0,5 cm). Proceed as foll: 20 sts in rev St st, 12 sts in patt st, 20 sts in rev. St st. Shape sides by increasing 1 st at each end of every following 8th row 8 times (=68 sts). Work straight until sleeve measures 17,5 cm from beg (=82 r.). Cast off.

To make up
Join shoulders seams. With right side facing, using size 2 mm needles knit up 99 sts evenly along left side of back and work 6 rows in k1, p1 rib. Cast off. Work border along right side of back, working 4 buttonholes evenly spaced. With right side facing, using size 2 mm needles knit up 112 sts evenly around neck edge and work 8 rows in k1, p1 rib, making buttonhole. Cast off. Join sides. Sew in sleeves. Sew 5 buttons on left back border and 3 buttons on front
