1 x 50g balls of Ornaghi Filati Pisolo pink; one pair 2 mm needles; one button.

Stitches
Stocking stitch (St st):
*knit 1 row, purl 1 row*
Pattern stitch:
Row 1: *p1, k10, p1*
Row 2 and foll even rows: k the k sts and p the p sts as they face you
Row 3: *p1, SKP (slip 1, k1, pass slipped st over knit st), k6, k2 tog, p1*
Row 5: *p1, SKP, k4, k2 tog, p1*
Row 7: *p1, SKP, k2, k2 tog, p1*
Row 9: *p1, SKP, k2 tog, p1*

Instructions
With size 2 mm needles cast on 252 sts. Work 10 rows in Patt st, until 84 sts rem. Work 50 rows in St st, incr. 22 sts evenly spaced across 1st row (=106 sts). Shape crown. Next row: *k8, k2 tog, k3*. Cont. dec in this manner in alt rows 8 more times. Next row: k3 tog across. Break off yarn, run end through 12 rem. sts, draw up and fasten off securely.

Flower
With 2 mm hook ch 5, join with sl st to form a ring. Rnd 1: work *1 tr, 2 ch in ring, rep from * 4 more times. Rnd 2: In every ch-2 space work 2 sc, 3 tr, 2 ch. Join with sl st. Fasten off.

To make up
Join crown and back seams. Fold border onto front side. Sew flower on front border. Sew button in the centre of the flower.
