Back
With size 2 mm needles cast on 121 sts. Work 2 rows in St st, 26 rows in Patt st. Cont. in St st. as foll: row 1: k18, slip 1, k2 tog, pass slipped st over knit st, k38, slip 1, k2 tog, pass slipped st over knit st, k38, slip 1, k2 tog, pass slipped st over knit st, k18. Cont. dec in this way every 16th row 5 more times, until 85 sts rem. Work straight until work measures 31 cm from beg (=141 r.). Shape armholes. Cast off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 1 sts at each end of next 3 alternate rows (=75 sts). Work even until piece measures 33 cm from beg (=151 r.), end with wrong side row. Shape back opening. K to centre 5 sts and bind off, join a 2nd ball of yarn and k to end. Working with 2 balls of yarn, work in St st on remaining sts at each side. Work even until piece measures 38 cm from beg (=174r.). Shape neck. Cast off 12 sts at neck edge. Cast off at neck edge of foll alt rows 1 st 3 times. Work even until piece measures 40 cm from beg (=184 r.). Cast off rem. 20 sts for shoulders.

Front
With size 2 mm needles cast on 121 sts. Work 2 rows in St st, 26 rows in Patt st. Cont. in St st. as foll: row 1: k18, slip 1, k2 tog, pass slipped st over knit st, k38, slip 1, k2 tog, pass slipped st over knit st, k38, slip 1, k2 tog, pass slipped st over knit st, k18. Cont. dec in this way every 16th row 5 more times, until 85 sts rem.
Work straight until work measures 31 cm from beg (=141 r.). Shape armholes. Cast off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 1 st at each end of next 3 alternate rows (=75 sts). Work even until piece measures 37 cm from beg (=170 r.), end with wrong side row. Shape neck. Work in St st to centre 23 sts and cast off, join a 2nd ball of yarn and work in St st to end. Working with 2 balls of yarn, dec. at each side of neck edge on every foll row 1 st 6 times. Work even until piece measures 40 cm from beg (=184 r.). Cast off rem. 20 sts for shoulders.

Sleeves
With size 2 mm needles cast on 52 sts. Work in St st. Shape sides by increasing 1 st at each end of every following 6th row 4 times (=60 sts). Work straight until sleeve measures 6 cm from beg (=27 r.). Shape the top of the sleeve. Cast off 4 st at beg of next 2 rows, 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 1 st at beg of next 30 rows (=18 sts). When work measures 13 cm (=61 r.) cast off all sts.

Flower
With 2 mm hook ch 5, join with sl st to form a ring. Rnd 1: work *1 tr, 2 ch in ring, rep from * 4 more times. Rnd 2: In every ch-2 space work 2 sc, 3 tr, 2 ch. Join with sl st. Fasten off.

To make up
Join shoulders seams. With right side facing, using size 2 mm needles knit up 22 sts evenly along right side of back and work 6 rows in k1, p1 rib. Cast off. Work the same border along left side of back, working 3 buttonholes evenly spaced. With right side facing, using size 2 mm needles knit up 88 sts evenly around neck edge and work 16 rows in k1, p1 rib. Cast off. Fold border in half and sew. Join sides. Sew in sleeves. Sew buttons. Around border of dress and sleeves, with 2 mm hook work: Row 1: sc; Row 2: *1 sc, ch-2, skip 2 sc, rep. from *, end with 1 sc; Row 3: work 5 sc in every ch-2 space. Fasten off. Work 3 flowers and sew at front. Sew 1 button at the centre of every flower.
