Materials
6 x 50g balls of Ornaghi Filati Mary; one pair 5 1/2 mm needles; a 5 mm crochet hook; 1 button.

Stitches
Rev. Stocking stitch (rev. St st):
*purl 1 row, knit 1 row*
Garter stitch (Gr st):
Knit all rows.
Pattern stitch (Patt st):
Row 1, 3: Knit
Row 2: K1, *(K1, p1, K1, p1, K1) all into next st, p5 tog*, K1
Row 4: K1, *p5 tog, (K1, p1, K1, p1, K1) all into next st *, K1
These 4 rows form pattern.
Chain stitch (ch)

Gauge
11 sts and 16 rows to 10 cm in rev. St st using size 5 1/2 mm needles.

Back
With size 5 1/2 mm needles cast on 54 sts. Work 6 rows in Gr st (=3 cm). Cont in rev. St st. Work straight until piece measures 20 cm from Gr st (=33 r.). Shape armholes. Cast off at beg of every row 4 sts twice, 1 st 6 times (=40 sts). Work straight until piece measures 39 cm from Gr st (=62 r.). Cast off rem. 40 sts.

Right front
With size 5 1/2 mm needles cast on 8 sts. Work in Patt st. Incr. 5 sts at neck edge of every alt row 10 times (=58 sts). Work straight 4 rows. Shape neck. Cast off 5 sts at beg of next alt row 9 times. At the same time when piece measures 20 cm from beg (=28 r.) shape armhole. Cast off at beg of next row 4 sts. Work straight until piece measures 39 cm from beg (=62 r.). Cast off rem. 9 sts. Work left front reversing shapings.

Sleeves
With size 5 1/2 mm needles cast on 28 sts. Work 6 rows in Gr st (=3 cm). Cont in rev. St st. Shape sides by increasing 1 st at each end of every following 10th row 4 times (=36 sts). Work straight until sleeve measures 45 cm from Gr st (=72 r.). Shape the top of the sleeve. Cast off at beg of foll rows 1 st 8 times. When sleeve measures 50 cm from Gr st (=80 r.) cast off rem. 28 sts.

To make up
Join shoulders seams. Using 5 1/2 mm needles, with RS facing, K up 158 sts along right front, back neck and left front edge and work 6 rows in Gr st. Join sides. Sew in sleeves. With crochet hook work a loop buttonhole on right front edge. Sew on button.
