6; auxiliary row.
Stitches used:
String:
All plain rows.
Stocking-stitch:
* 1 plain row, 1 purl row *.
Fantasy stitch:
From the 1st to the 7th row: plain.
2nd row and even rows: purl.
9th row: * 6 stitches interlaced to the left (leave 3 stitches in suspense
inserted in the auxiliary row and keep them on the front of the work,
knit 3 plain stitches, knit the stitches in suspense in a plain mode),
6 plain stitches *.
From the 11th to the 17th row: plain.
19th row: * 6 plain stitches, 6 stitches interlaced to the left *.
21st row: Repeat from the 1st row.
Sample:
10 X 10 cm to stocking-stitch with No. 6 rows = 8 stitches X 11 rows.
BACK: With No. 5 rows start 40 stitches and knit them, for the
border, string for 3 cm (= 4 rows). Proceed to stocking-stitch with No.
6 rows. 25 cm from the border (= 27 rows) for the arm-holes knit the first
and last 3 stitches using the string mode, and inside these stitches cast
off 1 stitch every 2 rows four times (= 32 stitches). At 40 cm from the
border, (= 44 rows) for the neckline interlace the 8 central stitches
in a single way. Finish the two parts separately interlacing the sides
of the neckline, every 2 rows, 3 stitches, 2 stitches, 1 stitch. At 49
cm from the border (=54 rows) interlace the 6 remaining stitches for each
side in a single way.
FRONT: With No. 5 rows start 40 stitches and knit them, string
for 3 cm (= 4 rows) proceed with No. 6 rows and knit: 5 stitches to stocking-stitch,
* 6 stitches in fantasy stitch starting from the first row, 6 stitches
in fantasy stitch starting from the 11th row, repeat from * to * once
again, 6 stitches in fantasy stitch starting from the 1st row, 5 stitches
in stocking-stitch. At cm No. 25 from the border (= 27 rows) for the arm-holes
knit the first and last 3 stitches in a string mode, and inside these
stitches cast off 1 stitch every 2 rows four times (= 32 stitches). At
40 cm from the border (= 44 rows) for the neckline interlace the 8 central
stitches in a single way. Finish the parts separately interlacing the
sides of the neckline, every 2 rows, 3 stitches, 1 stitch 3 times. At
49 cm from the border (= 54 rows) interlace the 6 remaining stitches for
each side in a single way.
MANUFACTURING: Sew the right shoulder. With No. 5 row re-take 50
stitches around the neckline and knit them, for the neck, 7 rows in stocking-stitch
mode. Interlace, sew the left shoulder and the neck. Sew the sides.
