Requirements:
6 x 50g balls of Ornaghi Filati Land; one pair No. 8 and 12 needles; cable needle.

Stitches:
Stocking stitch (St st):
*knit 1 row, purl 1 row*
Garter stitch (Gr st)
Knit all rows.
Pattern st:
Row 1: P1, k4, p 1.
Row 2 and all even rows: K1, p4, k1.
Row 3: P1, sl 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, k2, k sts form cable needle, p1
These 4 rows form pattern.



Gauge:
11 sts and 15 rows to 10 cm in St st using size 8 needles

Back:
With size 8 needles cast on 46 sts. Work: 11 sts in St st, 6 sts in Patt sts, 12 sts in St st, 6 sts in Patt sts, 11 sts in St st. Work straight in pattern until work measures 35 cm from beg (=52 r.) Shape armholes. Cast off 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 1 sts at each end of next 2 alternate rows (=34 sts). Work even until piece measures 52 cm (=78 r.), end with wrong side row. Shape neck. K to centre 16 sts and bind off, join a 2nd ball of yarn and k to end. Working with 2 balls of yarn, work in patt on remaining 9 sts at each side. Work even until piece measures 55 cm (=82 r.). Bind off all sts.

Front:
With size 8 needles cast on 46 sts. Work: 11 sts in St st, 6 sts in Patt sts, 12 sts in St st, 6 sts in Patt sts, 11 sts in St st. Work straight in pattern until work measures 35 cm from beg (=52 r.) Shape armholes. Cast off 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 1 sts at each end of next 2 alternate rows (=34 sts). Work even until piece measures 48 cm (=72 r.), end with wrong side row. Shape neck. K to centre 8 sts and bind off, join a 2nd ball of yarn and k to end. Working with 2 balls of yarn, dec 2 st at each side of neck edge on every foll alternate row 2 times. Work in patt on remaining 9 sts at each side. Work even until piece measures 55 cm (=82 r.). Bind off all sts.

Collar:
With size 12 needles cast on 45 sts and work in Gr st. . Work even until piece measures 45 cm. Hold on all sts.

Manufacturing:
Join sides and shoulders seams. Sew collar around neck edge.
