300 grams of mélange red Ornaghi Filati SAMBA yarn; rows No. 4 and 4½.

Second and subsequent rows: Knit the stitches as presented.
Stocking-stitch:
* 1 plain row, 1 purl row *

Sample:
10X10 cm in stocking-stitch mode with No. 4½ rows = 17 stitches for 21 rows.

BACK: with No. 4 rows start 75 stitches and knit them, for the border, 10 rows in 1/1 stitch mode (= 3 cm). Continue in stocking-stitch mode with No. 4½ rows. At 31 cm from the border (= 66 rows) for the arm-holes knit the first and last 5 plain stitches in 1/1 stitch mode, casting on 4 purl stitches (9 stitches are knitted this way in 1/1 stitch mode) and inside these stitches cast-off 2 stitches every 2 rows for a total of six times (= 59 stitches). At 55 cm from the border (= 116 rows) interlace the remaining stitches in a single way.
RIGHT FRONT: With No. 4 rows start 37 stitches and knit them, for the border knit 10 rows in 1/1 stitch mode (= 3 cm). Continue with No. 4½ rows in stocking-stitch mode. At 31 cm from the border (= 66 rows) for the arm-hole knit the last 5 plain stitches in 1/1 stitch mode, casting on 4 purl stitches (9 stitches are thus knitted in 1/1 stitch mode) and inside these stitches cast off 2 stitches every two rows for a total of five times. At the same time, at 46 cm from the border (= 97 rows) for the neckline, interlace 6 stitches to the right, then every 2 rows, 2 stitches once, and 1 stitch 6 times. At 55 cm from the border (= 116 rows) interlace the 17 remaining stitches in a single way.
MANUFACTURING: Sew the shoulders. With No. 4 rows re-take 67 stitches around the neckline and knit them in stocking-stitch mode for a total of 38 rows. Interlace the stitches. Fold the neckline in half and sew it with hidden stitches. Sew the sides. Knit a 160-cm lace and cross it through the front stitches, to close the two fronts, interlace the laces just as a shoelace is tightened up.
